I don't know how Toyota accounts for this through their ADR, but typically, the money made in the United States would need to be converted back to Yen in order for the parent company to close the books. The cars produced here in the US would be produced under the Toyota USA division, yet, as with any division that is internationally based, at some point the money needs to be put back into the parent company's coffers.

Toyota may hedge their currency exposure, so that may be an area of focus for future r...

Kris,

Right, they just develop the formation with exploration wells. They have some competitors that are much larger than they are, however I think that give us an opportunity to get into this company before they have grown up . If I haven't made it obvious already I'm bullish on oil/gas long term so I think from what I have seen so far this company shows potential to be a good investment....

I do not know the exatc percentage of moves, but they have had at least two large moves in the last three years, but as you said I dnt think that it means anythign since they just do the drilling by contract and not for oil extraction purposes...

if they build US and sell US than ther is no currency difference, Does anybody really know how much Toyota builds domestically and sells domestically or builds foreign and sells foreign?? i believe it is more of a importing exportng issue and not much of a currency issue. If that is the case then GM and Toyota can be compared somewhat equally and in that case I would like to report and reserach GM for a future investment opportunity....

Isn't it true that although Toyota has dropped in 2007 it is still outperforming GM? I agree that their cars are becoming more popular in the US, and I think it would be a good buy. Their cars are great because they run forever; they may not be a better bargain but its worth it to most. I'm going to have to go for Toyota over GM on this one....
