I see a good play with this company because it is the parent company of a couple different store brands. I think this aspect particularly attractive because it gives us a great diversified player in the consumer area of the economy (something that we do not currently have in our portfolio). I think that the recent performance of the company might be a beacon for an activist shareholder to hop aboard and suggest to the company to jettison one or two of the underperforming brands and pay for either a) a stock buyback or b) a one-time dividend. This is a recent phenomenon in the market where investors are wanting a company to spin-off a brand or to sell it outright so that the company can focus on its core brands and begin to create shareholder value once again.
My vote on this is company will be a "Buy" due to this feature, they have a great portfolio of brands and I can even see a Private Equity firm buying out the company due to those popular brands.

My only concern is the comapany's estimated growth rate. In the current quarter the comapny is down by 25% and this year it is down by 6.5%. Other than that I know that those 3 segments will generate money reguardless. I know I shop at two of the three.

I must disclose that I did not have access to any insider information last night when I wrote this post because this morning just checking out our stock suggestions, I looked at Limited Brands and found this press release: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070622/clf018.html?.v=97. Only problem is...we aren't invested in them yet.

I think this company seems like a good buy. I have shopped in all of thier stores before and have never seen then in any kind of trouble. Most of the products they sell cater to an upper middle class market. Even though their growth rate is down at the moment I dont see any reason why this company wont bounce right back as it has done in the past, which would make this a perfect time to buy.

I also shop in all three of their main stores and I definately think these stores have great qualities. They are always coming up with new products and promotions. I actually worked for Victoria's Secret last summer (only for about a month, lol), but it was ridiculous the amount of promotions they provide. Whether it was coupons, free things or new products, they were always pushing something. It's always new marketing, and for different age groups. I think this is a great company to add to our portfolio.
