The Student Managed Investment Portfolio is a club in the Eberly College of Business at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. These students manage an approximately $750,000 portfolio of stocks. The team meets each week and discusses changes to stocks, the market, and the overall economy.
SMIP is open to anyone who has an interest in learning to manage investments. It gives great experience in learning to managed investments and how to analyze securities, as well as experience in team collaboration, leadership, and public speaking.We welcome any current student to contact us! How did SMIP start?
The Indiana University of Pennsylvania Student Managed Investment Portfolio team was started with an initial investment of $200,000 by the Foundation for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (http://www.iup.edu/foundation). The Foundation for IUP is an independent, nonprofit, charitable 501(c)3 corporation, organized in 1967 to promote and support the educational purposes of IUP. The Student Managed Investment Portfolio now stands at approximately $750,000 of the Foundations nearly $300 million in assets.
